Branding / Design
Touchstone Corp., a Seattle-based commercial real estate developer, sought Frause’s public relations and design help with its new, then unnamed downtown high-rise. Frause began the branding process by walking Touchstone through a series of exercises. The building was to evoke an upscale, coveted position in the market and would be located in the heart of downtown Seattle. After extensive research and creative brainstorming by Frause, Touchstone settled on the name that referenced “chic and urban” Manhattan’s neighborhoods (West Village, Upper East Side) as well as the building’s envious physical location (8th Avenue and Westlake) – and alas, “West 8th” was born. Following naming and branding, Frause produced West 8th’s marketing materials and signage, vital tools in any development and a marker of success as these tools are oftentimes the only representation of a property’s existence while under construction.
