Richard Kendall
EXECUTIVE VICE PRESIDENT
V-CARD

Richard’s a self-described brick-and-mortar dork, and thrives on every opportunity to help regional and national clients to get their buildings entitled, permitted, constructed and filled. While every real estate project is different, Richard approaches every development with a strategic, non-prescriptive communications eye, tailoring community and industry outreach based on the business and project needs of the client.  It doesn’t hurt that Richard is immersed in land-use and transportation issues, especially in sustainable urban communities that promote walkability, livability and conservation.

Richard specializes in public affairs, and community and public relations for commercial and mixed-use real estate projects that help to create thriving, healthy communities in Washington state and beyond.  He began his career working for public- and private-sector clients in travel, tourism and hospitality, but quickly discovered a calling in the real estate development arena. Since that time, he’s represented developers, retailers, builders, architects, brokers, planners, owners and investors --- on projects ranging from high-rise office complexes in Seattle to master-planned communities in the Deep South.

Richard is a long-time publicity junkie, and (still) thoroughly enjoys the thrill of conceptualizing and placing stories that resonate with key audiences and support clients’ marketing activities. Were it not for communications, Richard likely would have pursued a career in marine biology. In his free time, Richard enjoys being home with his wife and two children or, time permitting, playing a round of golf or SCUBA diving in Puget Sound.

“ As our urban areas continue to densify, the need for strategic community outreach efforts will be increasingly critical to a project’s success and, more importantly, the business and lifestyle benefits they bring to various neighborhood stakeholders.”
