Solution
Following a thorough review of the litigation details, our team prepared a media release (written in several versions to accommodate various possible outcomes), wrote talking points to guide our client through a media conference (also several versions), and compiled a Q&A document to prepare our client for media inquiries. We then conducted one-on-one media training with Williams, Kastner & Gibbs attorneys as well as Yakima public officers, including the Chief of Police, to further ready them for media interaction.
Outcomes/Results
When the litigation concluded, Frause finalized and distributed the news release and followed up with key members of the media. Consequently, the lawsuit’s ultimate disposition was presented as a “win” for the City of Yakima in the media coverage that was generated, which included stories on the local ABC, NBC and CBS television affiliates.
