Red Mountain Resort
Marketing / Public Relations
A San Diego-based businessman purchased Red Resort, a little known ski mountain in British Columbia, and planned to launch a real estate development plan for 1,400 mountain residences. With its long-time status as a private ski club and history as a “steep and deep” skier’s hill, Red Resort had little to no existing reputation among likely condominium buyers and other destination visitors.
Solution
Frause developed a comprehensive real estate marketing communications program to spread the word about this once-in-alifetime opportunity to get in early at Canada’s oldest ski resort. The program included an engaging, easy to navigate Web site, targeted Northwest advertising, special event promotions, news materials and an aggressive national media relations campaign, and direct marketing strategies. Frause conducted a multi-city casual dinner tour aimed at Red’s most loyal guests to give them the first opportunity to purchase condominiums prior to broadening the campaign. In Seattle, we partnered with a local real estate professional to coordinate cocktail parties with some of the Puget Sound’s wealthiest, most successful professionals.
Outcomes/Results
The Friends of Red tour generated faster than anticipated sales of Red’s first condo project. Several attendees of the Seattle event purchased condos. The PR campaign resulted in feature stories in the Wall Street Journal, Sunset, Washington CEO and more.
